What is ENT Care?

Causes of ENT Problems:

  • Infections: Bacterial or viral infections, such as colds, flu, ear infections, sinus infections, and throat infections (like strep throat).
  • Allergies: Pollen, dust mites, pet dander, and mold can cause allergic reactions, leading to nasal congestion, sneezing, and throat irritation.
  • Environmental Irritants: Exposure to smoke, pollution, strong odors, and chemicals can irritate the ears, nose, and throat.
  • Sinusitis: Inflammation of the sinuses due to infection or allergies can lead to nasal congestion, headaches, and facial pain.
  • Acid Reflux (GERD): Stomach acid rising into the throat can cause irritation, sore throat, and hoarseness.

Symptoms of ENT Problems:

  • Ear Pain: Persistent or sharp pain in the ear, possibly accompanied by a feeling of fullness or pressure.
  • Nasal Congestion: Difficulty breathing through the nose due to blocked nasal passages, often caused by a cold, allergies, or sinus issues.
  • Sore Throat: Pain, scratchiness, or irritation in the throat, commonly linked to infections or inflammation.
  • Coughing: Persistent dry or productive cough, which could indicate throat or respiratory tract irritation.
  • Hoarseness or Voice Changes: A raspy or weak voice, often resulting from laryngitis, vocal cord strain, or infections.
